Tubomix relies on measurements of real paints and on published work. Thanks to their authors.

Paint measurements

• Golden Artist Colors, Inc. — spectral reflectance curves of their Heavy Body acrylics, made available free of charge by Golden. They give Tubomix the real shape of each pigment’s colour.realtimerendering.com/golden.html
• Yoshio Okumura, « Developing a Spectral and Colorimetric Database of Artist Paint Materials », MS thesis, Rochester Institute of Technology, 2005 (advisor : Roy S. Berns). Measured colours of 26 Golden acrylics mixed with titanium white in known proportions: they set the strength of each tube.

Commercial names and pigments

The match between tube names and their pigments (“Find your tube” page) comes from the manufacturers themselves, read on the date shown. Manufacturers sometimes change a colour’s recipe: when in doubt, your tube’s label is right. Brand and colour names belong to their owners; Tubomix is not linked to any manufacturer.
